Prepositions
 
A preposition is a word that connect other words in a sentence.
 
Common Prepositions
about    around      beside    for       near     outside     under
above    at             by          from    of        over         until
across    before      down      in        off       past          up
after      behind      during    inside   on       through    with
along    below        except    into      out      to            without
 
     ex. The group of climbers walked along the path.
 
A prepositional phrase begins with a preposition and ends with a noun or pronoun.
All the words between the preposition and the noun or pronoun are part of the prepositional phrase.
Some prepositional phrases tell when.
     ex. The climbers began their hike in the early morning.
