What is a Verb? -- the verb is the main word in the predicate
-An action verb is a word that tells what people or things do.
    ex. Ken drops his stamps.
         Donna walked to the post office.
-The verbs am, is, are, was, and were are forms of the verb be. They tell what someone or something is or was.
-Am, is and are show present time. Was and were show past time.
    ex. I am happy with my coins
         You are the best coin collector.
         He is good at finding coins.
         I was late to the coin show.
         You were first in the show.
         We were late to the coin show.
